Here at Acura of the Rio Grande Valley, we want our customers to be as safe as possible. That's why we think it's important to offer these tips for how to drive in the rain. Rainy, wet roads in and around San Juan can present a real challenge. Follow this advice to stay safe.

The first thing you must do is to stay alert. These aren't ordinary driving conditions. Therefore, added precaution and awareness is necessary. It's also wise to turn on your headlights for enhanced visibility. Also, you should always check your wipers to ensure they're in good working condition when you need them.

Hydroplaning occurs when the surface water causes your tires to lose contact with the road. If you start to hydroplane and spin, let your foot off of the gas slowly and steer straight. In the event that your car begins to spin, steer slowly in the direction of the spin until you can gain control.
